Hi there - I am new to this message board but it looks like it could be useful. I passed my CCNA way back in 1999 and due to work changes etc I didn't keep it up to date. I understand that the exam has changed a lot since those days. I passed that one without having to do and prep work as I worked on routers/switches most of the time. Over the past 2 years I have been doing more security, firewall and content switching work so my Cisco router skills have dropped off a bit. I would like to retake the CCNA and do the CCNP as well. Can anyone tell me what these newer exams are like? is there a LAB involved (in 1999 it was just lots of multiple choice questios).
Many thanks,
HH |

Yes there are now simulations on the exams (CCNA, CCNP, CCSP) and the CCNA has changed in topics (introduction of single area OSPF, Frame-Relay for instance)
Cisco made it harder but then again it will value the certification more |
